JOB ADVERT - Pilsley Village Hall Caretaker
Pilsley Parish Council is seeking a reliable and practical individual to support the smooth running of Pilsley Village Hall.
This is a light-touch caretaker role focused on checking and resetting the hall between hires. Deep cleaning is undertaken separately by a contracted cleaner.
Pay: £12.65 per hour
Hours: 4 hours per week (flexible, variable depending on bookings)
Location: Pilsley Village Hall
Contract: Part-time, permanent (subject to probation)
About the Role
The Caretaker will ensure the hall is safe, tidy and ready for community use. Duties include:
· Checking the hall after each hire
· Light sweeping and quick wipe-downs where needed
· Restocking toilet supplies
· Putting tables and chairs away
· Minor practical tasks (e.g. replacing bulbs)
· Reporting damage or maintenance issues
· Occasional weekend reset support during busy periods
The role requires flexibility, as some work will be evenings or weekends depending on hall bookings.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is:
· Reliable and trustworthy
· Able to work independently
· Practical and organised
· Comfortable carrying out light manual tasks
· A good communicator
Experience in caretaking, cleaning or facilities work would be helpful but is not essential.
